Jeff Gossett: Punter
Jeff Gossett was one of the National Football League's leading punters. From his days as a college player at Eastern Illinois University to the National Football League, Jeff set the national standard in punting.
In 1991 Jeff was named as the punter on the Sporting News NFL All-Pro Team and in 1992 he participated in the NFL Pro Bowl. Jeff twice played in the AFC Championship Game, once with the Cleveland Browns (1986) and once with the Los Angeles Raiders (1990).
Jeff brought extraordinary power and quickness to his punts. He took the snap in split-seconds and punted the ball for tremendous distances. During his 15 stellar years in the National Football League, Jeff punted for almost 42,000 yards with an average distance of over 41 yards. Jeff's speed and strength allowed him to rack up these impressive numbers with punts having been blocked only three times over his entire professional career.
In his "All Pro Sports Football Series" DVD, Jeff shares his life story and discusses different punting techniques, various types of punts for different game situations including adjustments for bad snaps and punting in wind and rain. He also discusses physical conditioning and practice drills and the importance of self-confidence for the achievement of professional and personal success.
