Roy Firestone, former host of ESPN's Up Close Primetime is one of America's most versatile and original talents. Roy is well recognized and honored for his television broadcast interviews, sports journalism, essays and commentaries and his unique stage performances. As the narrator of the "All Pro Sports Football Series", Roy adds his prestige to this innovative DVD series.

Roy has received six Emmy Awards and two ACE Awards for Cable Excellence and has been described by Sports Illustrated as "the best interviewer in the business". Roy has received critical acclaim for his work as host of ESPN's SportsLook (and now Up Close) for a decade and has interviewed over three thousand individuals including major public figures such as President Richard Nixon, legendary actor James Stewart, jazz great Miles Davis, Comedian Jerry Lewis and pop icon Madonna. In 1995, as ESPN's senior interviewer and as host of ESPN's Up Close Primetime, Roy hosted thirteen primetime one-hour specials featuring the most celebrated names in sports and entertainment, including guests such as Shaquille O'Neal, Pete Rose, Steve Young, Michael Jordan, Cal Ripkin, Jr. and Mike Tyson.

Roy is the recipient of the prestigious Northeastern University Award for Broadcast Journalism. TV Guide recently referred to Roy as "the Barbara Walters of sports" and Pulitzer Prize winner Jim Murray has called Roy "the best interviewer I've ever seen. That's not the best sports interviewer, that's the best interviewer period."

While best known for his broadcast journalism, Roy is also and accomplished singer, impressionist and comedian and has shared the bill with Frank Sinatra, Loretta Lynn, Vic Damone, Gladys Knight, the Four Tops and Frankie Valli. Roy performs his multi-media review in front of audiences in Las Vegas, The Grand Ole Opry and at major sporting events and conventions throughout the world. In addition, Roy has made appearances on Late Night with David Letterman, Arsenio, Later with Bob Costas, Married with Children, Nightline with Ted Koppel, Larry King Live and Hollywood Squares.
