Eric Allen: Cornerback

Eric Allen was one of the best cornerbacks in football. A veteran of five Pro Bowls, Eric shares the single-season record for most touchdowns by interception with four and the single-game record for touchdowns by interception with two.

Eric brought a winning combination of skill and intelligence to the cornerback position. His ability to read an offense and react accordingly made him one of the most outstanding pass defenders in football. Over his twelve NFL seasons Eric grabbed a remarkable 34 interceptions and returned five for touchdowns.

No wide receiver in the games liked to go up against Eric … it was like playing against an octopus. Long bombs, short bullets, almost any pass that seemed guaranteed to be a completion would be knocked away, batted down or in the possession of the defense when Eric was on the field.
