Jerry Rice
Jerry Rice: Wide Receiver
Jerry Rice is widely regarded as the greatest wide receiver ever to play professional football. He has been a member of three Super Bowl championship teams and a perennial Pro Bowl player (having been invited to the Pro Bowl thirteen times) and All-Pro. In recognition of his excellence, the Sporting News has twice named him the NFL Player of the Year.
How many NFL records can one player hold? In 1994, Jerry passed the legendary Jim Brown to set the all-time record for touchdowns and completed his future Hall of Fame career with 197 touchdown pass receptions to his credit! Jerry had fourteen seasons with 1,000 or more yards in pass receptions - the most in history. Jerry set a record of 13 straight games with one or more touchdown receptions with 22 and shares the single-game record for most touchdown receptions with five.
In addition to his numerous other post-season career and individual game records, Jerry holds the Super Bowl career records for most points (42), most touchdowns (7), most touchdown receptions (7), most receptions (28), most combined yards (527) and most yards receiving (512). Jerry also holds Super Bowl single-game records for most touchdown receptions (3) and most yards receiving (215) and shares records for most points (18), most touchdowns (3) and most receptions (11).
Jerry achieved his success through a rigorous training program and devotion to his sport that earned him a reputation as the hardest-working player in football. He approached every drill and every practice as if they were game situations. In his "All Pro Sports Football Series" DVD, Jerry shares his life story and covers the conditioning, the techniques and the positive mental attitude that made him one of the greatest players of the game.
